I built the trailer in 1974 with $150 and three days in order to go to the Glen for NE SCCA Solo 2 run off. Old Blue has traveled 850 miles on it during this most recent work. Drop it off, pick it up, bring it back with out power unit. I hope the next time it goes on trailer it will be heading to a new home. I have over 1000 pictures of work on Blue. Not sure this would be a good place to drop them all. Steve (CTR)

Your welcome and I get it. It's clear I have lost my grip on sanity. I completely miss figured post Covid costs. When I started my journey I was 18 young dumb and poor. Starting to wonder if now I'm just old not to bright and poor. Steve (CTR)

I ask for this because it's clear someone has driven this car in this configuration and you can't just throw a carpet kit in it. It feels like wool and leather. all stitched and fitted. Complete with a sealing patch beyond roll bar supporting co driver foot plate. I've been told it's located to force knees up to support notes. I had not thought of plate bracing tunnel to cross member. I can shampoo it and place some nice mats over the wear. I guess we will see. Thanks to mowog for his support. Steve (CTR)

Why not just order a new carpet kit in that color and then take it to my upholstery guy in VB and have him modify it to match what you have there with all the cut-outs for the roll cage and whatever else etc.?

A couple of things, as we know they come apart much quicker than they go back together. Each part must be cleaned polished and tested before reassembly. Door handles and boot handle have lumpy rust. The bulk of the bright work is cleaning up nicely. Of course all new rubber will go a long way toward freshening the look.
tcave, is a friend and customer. What he is referring to has to do with down sizing my shop. Mid Covid the same week my father passed away ( kidney failure not Covid ) I was notified that my shop rent would double the first of following month. As a result I had to sub let one of my units and vacate several. Most of my friends are like me ( can't lift much more than a loaf of bread ) so we lined up our PUs with tail gates down. Placing parts and boxes on tail gates we just unloaded where we found floor space. During our lunch break someone came along and stole much of the contents of one unit. Checking cameras the renter of unit next to mine opened his door and drug my stuff into his unit. To make matters worse he chop sawed some of my materials in half to take with him before we returned. Going from 5500 sq ft to 3300 sq ft has been a challenge. Steve (CTR)

This is where I store four classic mini shells out of my way. Yes, it requires a fork lift with long forks. They don't give away 20 footers or the 8 footers and two layers of 3/4 plywood deck. The whole is screwed together for moving as I was sure one day it would. We took it apart before lunch stacked all parts numbered for reassembly in front of unit beyond pavement leaving door partly open to hint someone was close buy. Eating lunch other side and other end of 90X400 ft building it all disappeared. Cameras let me know who to contact though land lord. Calling the guy he was sure it was all trash and free for the taking. Having arranged for help to move parts and fork lift to take shells down to disassemble then put back was not working out. While I was able to get the wood back he had already sold materials for scrap.

Heat index at 105, I have been doing smalls. Set up a three arm puller and steel round plate to pull the brass threaded rings to remove twin tanks. The gasket/seal in flip caps are cracked and dry. Experimenting with hand cut seals of different diameter and thickness. I have been fussing with painter about missing parts. Seems while stripping he put parts from one side in one box and the other side in another. Things like, one wisher with clips, front turn, one bonnet strap and buckle, inside and out door handle with safety button and tail lamp assembly. Of course I can replace all that from parts on hand. But cleaning up yesterday I found the lost box under my hill climb project car. Steve (CTR)

Five years ago I struggled to get the brake system to work with a stand alone brake booster. Mounted in the co driver foot well makes for a lot of plumbing. We know the late booster/master combo has issues with Mk1 bonnet hinges. Since Old Blue has no hinges I'm updating the system. Return to mid to upper 80s and I'm working again. Steve (CTR)

This is a much better system. Will have a split boosted master. I have yet to remove a master from this type set up that was not eaten up with rust inside. A new master and good to go. Will also need one of the bent clutch housing vents. I have the same set up on my 85 1000E with a torque tube cross over for LHD with 7.5 std disc and calipers and a 1360 Cooper S power unit.
