Re: At The Auctions
And an F registered Mk2 to boot. I had one too, bought cheap with a small amount of frontal damage. Ran like clockwork for several years.
I am looking at one in a very similar state/condition sans the Dunlops. I hope my man doesn't see the auction estimate........ Being a tight-arse, my offer is '...considerably less...' that that

Re: At The Auctions
Looks like a nice car, lots of new bits and an older restoration, looks like original floor from the outside.scalino65 wrote: ↑Mon May 27, 2024 9:49 pm https://www.carandclassic.com/car/C1730825

On a general note,it would be nice to see photos of the floor inside on more cars, sure first thing we all do is lift the carpets

Wonder what the asking price for this gem roughly is? Anyone in the know? I'd leave it exactly how it is, incl. the muck and the fag pack
Yes I am a nerd: I am researching the Austrian Mini-racing scene of the 60s and 70s

American 1071 on BAT, but the chassis and body numbers don’t seem to tie in with its age;

Just looking at the replica that didn't sell again - and imaging the cost to build it!

Not sure whether to say prices have tanked and / or someone got a bit of a bargain ? https://www.handh.co.uk/auction/lot/lot ... 8&pn=1&g=1
Not Mini but there was also a really nice Anglia race car that didn’t scrape £10k and also sold.

Odd car...... outside looks good in the photos (maybe just painted) then the rest looks thrown together or unloved....Brynmor wrote: ↑Thu Jul 25, 2024 8:55 am Not sure whether to say prices have tanked and / or someone got a bit of a bargain ? https://www.handh.co.uk/auction/lot/lot ... 8&pn=1&g=1

If the paint etc is good then the shell and paint are worth the selling price..on their own
EDIT : 1968 Morris Mini Cooper , Sold for £11,812, (including buyers premium) ……..about right ?

Back up for sale with a trader
I had a good look at that and was tempted. Innocentis are very hard to price and there’s a few for sale, £14,995 puts it right at the top end. Always fancied one if mainly for the dash.

Re: At The Auctions
Would also make a tidy 6k profit for the dealer at that price, nice work if you can’t get itBrynmor wrote: ↑Wed Jul 31, 2024 7:25 amS33blo wrote: ↑Tue Jul 30, 2024 7:29 pmIMG_8569.pngMetronick wrote: ↑Mon Jul 29, 2024 9:17 am This was a bit of a bargain at £9,200 with fees.

Re: At The Auctions
It won't be £6k profit after paying auction fees, pre-sale prep and other costs...but still a nice profit. There is another up at £20K at the moment which is very nice too. They do seem cheap compared to a "S" or buying any other restoration project and spending £££ on bring to the same standard.

It sold for £9,200 with fees, can’t be much prep done in two days.cockney21 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 31, 2024 8:30 am It won't be £6k profit after paying auction fees, pre-sale prep and other costs...but still a nice profit. Re: At The Auctions
Let’s hope any prospective buyers are smart enough to Google the reg number before they view and/or buy as the auction page still the first result on Google.
Re: At The Auctions
The thing is there are a lot of people out there that will only ever buy from a dealer as they like the feeling that if something goes wrong they have someone they can turn to/blame/sue!
I'm amazed by the number of classic owners that have very little knowledge of how their cars work or are willing to do even the most simple jobs, let alone take the plunge and buy privately or from auction...It must make the hobby very expensive.
