Heater pipes

Hiya, could someone remind me where the engine bay heater hoses go on the side of the matrix please, which is bottom and top? Ta😀

My workshop manual shows the bottom one to the heater control valve. The diagram is just a schematic, though.

The flow in to the bottom will push out air at the top.
