Hello all,
Just wondering how the original external 1962 Countryman petrol tank left the factory !
Were they painted? Body color, black or just unpainted steel ?
Thanks,
Jim

Personally, I would say that just like the saloon tanks, they were painted, un-primed, with a wishy-washy semi matt finish. I think that they were pressed and welded at Marston Radiators just off the Woodstock Road in Oxford. Memory again, but if it was at the old Osburton radiators plant, the same applies

As far as I recall, they were all finished in a semi-gloss black on the van, pick-up and estate models.
