What is Coopers pd2894

Post by 5portsrock »

Going through some parts and came across this plastic part marked Coopers pd2894, bolt spacing 2" centres. Approx 5/16" diameter. Any ideas? Thanks

Looks like a breather that was fitted onto the flywheel housing on some models.

Austin/Morris 1300 has these, early models I belive. They then had a metal can. Not the same as the 1275GT can, but a longer can with a shorter....lower leg...thing....

Crankcase breather that was open to atmosphere, as used on very early Austin 1300's.

These were also made in metal too, which I believe would have been an earlier model of them

Back in the mid 80's I bought a 1967 austin 1300 engine to put in my mini. It had the metal version of the breather, but I lost the top of it. (due to the engine being knackered and having massive amounts of crank case pressure). The plastic version I have now is the replacement one I bought from the local austin rover dealer at the time.
