Robert Young
Although it has been posted in the "general chat" section I feel that Robert should be remembered in this section as his knowledge of the works minis as a Historian was definitely second to none. We will all miss you Robert but we'll meet again - maybe. Rest in peace Robert and thank you for your enthusiasm of all things Mini Cooper and all you did for the Mini Cooper Register.

Robert Young will always be remembered for his definitive reference book 'The Works Minis in Detail' the result of many years of research by him and an essential read for any Mini enthusiast.
RIP Robert.

Build details of every car are provided, drawn from factory build sheets, with information also on when cars were reshelled and identities swapped. The details of the events entered and the drivers are the result of analysing hundreds of contemporary race and rally reports.
The result is the most in-depth study of the works Minis ever published, made possible by years of research by Robert Young, a lifelong Mini enthusiast. I have to say that the book is fantastic, and Robert also gave us some excellent further insights in Cooperworld. I have now found a letter he wrote to me in the 90s helping me with my 'kind of works copy' car that was prepared in the late 60s. RIP Robert and thank you.
