Fresh Air Intake Piping.

Post by Broadspeed »

Hello guys, I am helping a friend to rebuild a 1967/8 MK11 from a new shell up. We are having some problems to identify how the fresh air pipes for the ventilation system feed into the car, and how they are routed. Can you please help me preferably with some pictures.
Thanks a lot. :?:

There were reducers and a smaller pipe from the bulkhead brace to the grille may be some one will have a picture of that set up ?

May be some one could confirm for me what cars had the reducers fitted ?

Thanks Stuart, but i dont think thats a std servo and brake pipe routing. Also as Ian says there was a reducer that went from the grille to the bulkhead. That picture that you have shown shows the large pipe from grille through bulkhead ??.
Thanks for your help. See you on Sunday.

The mk1 only had vinyl glued to the metal dash rail.

I saw a servo and thought S. I should have looked at the cylinder head  .

Not to worry, I've found another couple of shots which are from a Mk2 S

Image

The firs one shows the pipe with a reducer (or should that be enlarger) just by the master cylinder. It also shows the brake pipe going over the intake pipe.

Image

The second shows the intake pipe bending down towards the intake.

I was looking into and comparing breather systems when I took these, hence why the are not full engine bay shots.

Stuart

PS I'm only going to Cadwell on Saturday. Sunday I'm going to Skipton for the Ilkley Jubilee as I hear some old orange Mini is taking part. ;)

Don't want to hijack, but who sells the early style fresh air tubes that John Kelly used to supply?
