Numbered main bearing caps......

I know all the Ss had numbers stamped into the main bearing caps, with a matching number stamped into the front of the block.....

Early 850s, 998s, and, possibly 997s, and 1100s also had numbers stamped into the caps, but, not on the block.....

Anybody know when the numbers on the small bore engine main caps stopped.....
