Cooper S servo brake pipes for a dry car

Hello chaps
Has anyone got some good pictures or even some accurate pipes to help me make some servo brake pipes for a 1275 S dry car?

If you need anything else let me know, I based these on a local '64 1071 that surfaced a few years ago and still had the originals, or at least they looked correct when compared to period pictures.

If you can compare to Norman's that would be great - just to be sure?

To me, the servo in the picture should be more at an angle.

Mmmmmmmm.... I hope someone tells me that I'm wrong here but..... I have a feeling that the servo pipes were directed more over the top of the servo as opposed to along the flitch panel. From the master cyl to the INlet and then out of the outlet, again, over the top of the servo, clipper together with a small two piece clamp held together with a small nut and bolt. One then down to the hydraulic 3-way junction.

Or is that for wet/hydro cars like mine. That said, as shown,looks to be a better method.

They changed fairly soon after I think Peter, I'm sure someone else can confirm if it was hydro?

Larry, this is the original inner wing apart from the bottom corner where it is welded to the front panel, so it might just be the angle of the pic that is deceptive?

Edit to say that what clinched it for me was the early 1071 pic on here ;-)

As you infer Peter there were two different runs one more over the servo. :? I believe it was an Austin / Morris thing, perhaps one of the more well versed members could comment on this subject :?:

From what I can remember...the 1071 had the pipes under the servo and attached to the inner wing....think later 1071's were like the 970/1275.
The 970 and the early 1275 had them over the servo....
Just from memory...could be wrong.
Here is a picture of an early 1275 showing the layout of the engine bay. Think it was the same for both dry and wet cars.

Another little tell tale has just come to mind if you have the original inner wing - there will be a screw hole at the top where the pipe fixings go - there is a clamp there to hold them. Checked on the remains of a June 64 dry 970 that I still have and yes, the hole is there. If Bob 1071 comes along, he and I came to the same conclusion, and Bob being Bob he made the clamp in stainless ;-)

Andy, re your 64 car Austin or Morris ? ..maybe as mentioned the difference with Birmingham or Cowley Servo Pipe runs.

Mine's a Morris but that's a point as the car I copied was an Austin Norman. Both genuine 1071s to the best of my knowledge. The 970 with a screw hole was an Austin too.

I don't think it was an Austin/Morris thing, my car is a Morris and it had the pipes clipped to the inner wing. I'm sure the pipe runs were changed when the hydro came along, there isn't a lot of room to route the pipes the original way with the hydro flexi pipe and bracket under the m/cylinder area.
If you are making your own pipes to the early spec here are the pipe dimensions.

Certainly the pipes were changed when hydro came in.

This is the layout for an early hydro car, with the 'fresh' air heater pipe stopping at the triangular stiffener, as taken from various original cars and period photos.
