Engine bay plate...

Post by Canuk »

I noticed I have a welded plate with large pressed numbers letters against the inner wing just behind/above the radiator. Can anyone tell me what this information is? They are quite large letters.

I noticed it late last night so will try to see what the letters are....thanks.

It's an FE (front end) number given to each front end assembly in the factory.

Thanks..I thought it might be something that shows it was the body that matches the vin etc..

I noticed my twin HS2 carbs have an AUD318L tag on them...So they are off a Riley Kestral, Riley Elf? I assume its just the jetting and spring that was different.

I am trying to piece what I own...

To find that info, you have to look at the body number, it has the same type of letters/digits, also reverse stamped, like the FE no (MK II & on).
The body no is located on the slam panel, next to the bonnet lock mechanism.
