I reckon maybe BL rather than BMC. Perhaps that's the shade that went with all those Damask Red Minis and Marinas many of us remember so fondly :?
That seller, Craig, is very helpful and has a lot of contacts who worked at Cowley. He only lives around the corner from the old factory! Maybe not so much now but he used to come across some really good earlier stuff 8-)

i expect like me many look at the ads in Car & Classic .. Private sellers with cars for sale have a section to complete within title "Vehicle Background ".. that asks various Yes/No questions one is .. "Has there ever been any major structural issues which needed work ? ".. some sellers post NO .
Yet within the sellers description of the car for sale there is often a detail of what i would suggest is major structural bodywork having been carried out.
Interesting this declaration is not applicable to a Trade Seller on C&C .

I picked up one of these when I went to Downton in the 70s punched holes in the spine to put it in a folder should have picked up a few more if I’d have known it would fetch anything like that!

I Love the ADO 16 and all its derivatives, I owned a fair few over the years and loved the ride and space but sadly every last one succumbed to the dreaded tin worm. I see the prices are still reasonable and would consider one again when I have garage space for one.

Very nice modified Mini...but why do so many Minis have all this work and money poured into them and then go up for sale soon after at what appears to be a significant loss?
Quote:
"she's travelled only 975 miles since her full refurbishment. No expense has been spared: with over £60, 000 in this build she is truly next level."

Makes no sense....unless it's a classic car restoration by the Bangers & Cash Team TV series which usually pay too much at the auction, spend too much doing up the car, then sell at a loss. eg. Series 1 Land Rover, they bought for £9k, spent £50k on labour, total cost was over £85k. Sold in the end for £40k...
