Early Front Subframe - Tower Bolt Torque

Post by GraemeC »

Is there a specified value for the torque on the 4 (2 each side) subframe tower bolts? If so - what is it?!
Haynes doesn't state anything but proper manuals might.

Think it is nothing much, about 5lbs ft or something silly. Anything more and the bolts will just start digging a hole into the bulkhead. Just tighten the bolts square to the tab so you can raise it to lock the bolts off.

Since the thread is 3/8" unf, try around 42 ft lbs.
