Got 4 Clubmans in the workshop currently, none have a split inner wing. They all have full pressed panels.
Job for today then is weld it up and make it disappear. What a pain!

Well it’s been a while but eventually I’m making progress again. The shell itself is now in paint. The eagle eyed among you will spot a run or two but nothing that won’t fix easily. The engine is built and the subframes are ready so things should speed up again.

But, Oh my goodness, it’s so orange!

Thanks Andrew and Roger. It’s nice to make headway. I fitted the front subframes and chose some nice wheels today.

hi d
those wheels do look different are they a matched set  but i guess that you will get some different when time permits i managed to get some 13x 7 gold superlights for my project recently e7 off set as i need to get room for the radiator some where my usual supplier retired a few months ago and i had to look for some one else and they were clearing out some slow stock and i got them while they were there tyres will cost more than the wheels
but they can wait as lots need doing before that is needed
cheers roger

Roger,

The tyres are special production too with only tread on the outer side of the tyre. I’m told that is to reduce friction so allowing the car to go faster, especially sideways on corners.

hi d
my next purchase will be the coil over shocks which i will get from minispares as it is cheaper to buy them there and ship them to australia than paying more from local source my ggg grand father came from blair athol in perthshire so i am a bit frugal as my pension doesnt spread far

For those who may just remember this project there has been progress. If interest still exists here is an update. All painting is finished and assembly is under way.

A few details left to do but nearly done with the engine bay.

A bit of help here please. For the moment the switch carrier retains its original paint and I can live with the bits of rust breakthrough. Or at least I can for now, but should it get on my nerves later, what is the best colour match for the switch panel?

hi d
how about having it cleaned up and getting it chromed or brass plated either would be a good match for any color scheme
cheers roger :D
