Northumberland Borders Rally

Post by cookie1071 »

Evening folks,

For those of you that aren’t aware, the Supplementary Regulations for this year’s rally are now available for viewing and download from the “Downloads” section of the event website:

https://www.northumberlandbordersrally.co.uk/

https://www.northumberlandbordersrally. ... 282270.pdf

The rallies.info online entry system is also open:
https://www.rallies.info/webentry/2023/ ... /index.php

On offer are around ten Special Tests on private ground and ‘half night’ ~ 90-mile navigational rally on OS maps 81 & 75 starting from, and finishing at, The Hog’s Head Inn in Alnwick, NE66 2BF.

There is also a "Special Tests only" option for a reduced fee.

If anyone's in need of a navigator we can help. Chris Thorley who “has been competing on stage, road, enduro the odd HRCR event and now some targa” is available for example.

We very much look forward to receiving your entries.

Such a well established event.
Sadly, as a Southerner I feel that I am now past my sale by date for another competitive adventure "oop norf" with all the road mileage to & from but must admit to be very, very tempted.
Had a great family trip on the Scottish North Coast 500 route (941 miles Inverness to Inverness - don't ask!) and on the way back visited Hadrians Wall and seeing the local roads remembered my trips to Niall's events many years ago plus Niall's navigational support on an Essex event around the same time. Come on guys and girls, it is well established event and well worth taking part. Get your entries in and increase the numbers.
Be in it to enjoy - it's the taking part that counts. Niall and his team provide for all levels of navigational ability.
Cliff
ps a local navigator will be a great help/advantage and I'm sure there will be some willing to sit next to you if yo
do not have an friend offering.

Cheers Cliff 8-) . Your positive comments about the event and help push for entries for it is very much appreciated :D . Just to add that we've set a deadline of this Saturday, the 28th October, to reach the 15 entries we need to run the rally. As already mentioned, we're also happy to find someone to "sit in the silly seat" if required. We know of several local navs that will likely be available and a Midlands based one who is in the area that weekend visiting family and keen to have a crack at the event, which is great! Regards, Niall.
