Cooper S carpet
Evening all
Any advice opinion welcome, started to look at fitting the carpet and I am not sure how it came out of the factory, my problem is how the carpet fits in relation to the retaining plate that fits over the gear lever gaiter does the carpet fit over the retaining plate and rubber gaiter ? or does the carpet fit over the rubber but under the gaiter ? sorry if it sounds a bit vague I have put a picture with this thread to maybe see my problem, many thanks in advance.

This is a tregular question here. The answer is as you have shown. All assembled as per photo and carpet laid on the top.

Re: Cooper S carpet
One small point is that the crossmember should not be carpet covered along its length as your initial picture shows. Just a short piece of carpet should be fitted at each end

Oh bugger looks like there's some adhesive to remove !!, thanks for the info please could you give me an idea of how long the sections of carpet should be at each end of the crossmember, glad it was spotted now.

Re: Cooper S carpet
Good to see someone else who fitted the Servo under the dash like I did in 1969.

Re: Cooper S carpet
I saw that and had often thought about it. Any reason for it - apart from space in the engine room?
