Yes in Germany it was called Mini Masters, in the rest of the selling countries it was called Advantage. This because of the Germans couldn't pronounce Advantage 😄.
Yes, you're right. "Advantage" comes a little bit hard over our tongues whereas "Master" has already been adopted and is easier for us. The French "avantage" is much easier but would not have suited the Mini. Well, because of Boris we should be well accustomed to the terminology of the world of tennis, but it is like it is. Why the hell did they send him over here again? We were glad having got rid of him. Thankfully the Brits kept the other Boris within their frontiers and did not send him over, too!

Freshly acquired race car at home at the parent's villa in Vienna. Not yet finished he calls it a day, taking his portable receiver back in.

'85 at a round of the VLN I saw this ugly Mini parked at the road. From the doors, the grill and the Carello headlights this might once have been a beautiful Innocenti.

It was always said that these 'detector' vans were a pure fallacy. They 'worked' by simply going to the address of the non licence holders inm the arera anc knocking on the door and telling the occupier that the TV was on. Thus, detecting an offence.

The courts were in a quandry....... If the occupier said that the TV WASN'T on, they couldn't convict! The detection 'stuff' in the van was incapable of doing anything - except setting the van person up for perjury.

Some minis in 1960s (or early 70s) Reading Berkshire - I think both are in Broad street

Was it always sunny in the 60`s ?

Bottom photo has an Electric Trolley Bus in it - Reading was way a head of the curve with EVs  ....shame they got rid of them.

I've seen some beautiful Mini Sprints in my time.
That definitely isn't one of them

...yes. This one here had only the roof lowered. But for a Sprint one has to lower the waist, too. Much more work than simply the roof.

It's all about proportion - I'm envious of your location, so close to those wonderful playgrounds!

Have enjoyed many happy visits to the ring and stayed at a wonderful hotel in Cochem, unfortunately the Swiss hostess sold on and the place was never quite the same again...

Near Cochem at Klotten there is a beautiful hillclimb track (Bergpreis Klotten) once a year. I used to compete there myself with my Mini but the last few years I went there as a spectator and nearly liked it as much as driving. https://www.facebook.com/p/Moselbergpre ... 015784738/

That looks to be a great event, is it always held in July each year?

We used to sweep down into Cochem after the evening session on the ring, the whole journey of what 20km? was simply exhilarating on quiet and well surfaced roads, I recall the hotel; Park Hotel on the Rhine and run by a Swiss Frau (Prinz?) and her cordon bleu German husband, the three wild meat dish was simply superb and believe the Hotel was owned by a local Vineyard so the wine list was extensive... They had an underground garage which no one used and it was a special treat to be able to keep the car in there... Simply stunning area of Germany.
