If I bought it for MY wife I'm pretty sure she wouldn't drive it either - and if I told her I'd just paid ten grand for it, I'm pretty sure we'd be in for a few very quiet evenings

£18k was the original price when it was thought to be a Clubman rather than a Mini 1000....Exminiman wrote: ↑Fri Sep 01, 2023 7:23 am.......apparently, from the advert it was up for £18K originally ....FFSOld English White wrote: ↑Thu Aug 31, 2023 6:39 pm "I bought it for my wife but she's never driven it"

I see. Of course. That would have been a very reasonable price for one of those very rare, sought after and valuable square nosed models

It was up for £18k, until I and some other TMF members pointed out £18k is not realistic.

Re: WTH??!?! Have you seen this item on ebay.
Well..... They were my listings. Immediately after they ended the winning bidder on the gearbox messaged me to say that he doesn't want it because he didn't win the engine!!! And as of yet had no contact from the winning bidder on the engine. Isn't ebay great!Polarsilver wrote: ↑Mon Sep 04, 2023 9:41 am Ebay no 325786627288..AEG312/AEG634 Thick Flange S Engine +40" with Crank -20" + Minisport Head.. sold for £4,400 .. so we now know the yesterdays value of a used S Engine & Head..
So as far as I am concerned both are still for sale, if anyone is interested let me know.

I'd seriously consider selling my spare S engine for that sort of money . thin flange, plus 20 bore and 10/10 on the crank IIRCPolarsilver wrote: ↑Mon Sep 04, 2023 9:41 am Ebay no 325786627288..AEG312/AEG634 Thick Flange S Engine +40" with Crank -20" + Minisport Head.. sold for £4,400 .. so we now know the yesterdays value of a used S Engine & Head..

Hi
This is not eBay but I am intrigued by the flat sills and welded on seat mounts on a 65 car , does have recessed screen surrounds and upper seatbelt mounts are visible however there are grommets in the sills .
I believe Portugal received Minis as CKD’s at some point but would they have had shells with items that were changed on U.K. cars several years earlier?
Chrome catches too but that doesn’t necessarily mean to much as you could put them on a 1980 Mini van….if you were rich enough

There are a few things not as it left the factory ...... but then it is in Madeira and it was apparently a ex competition car - the shell and parts might just be part of its history...like lots of ex-competition minis and works cars ?monkeyjim wrote: ↑Tue Sep 05, 2023 8:15 am Hi
