Hi guys,
Our little GT is missing the engine number tag and only the number (26199) is recorded on the papers. Can anybody tell me what the prefix should be please ?

Re: 1275 GT engine number prefix
I'm not sure, but I'm guessing that the NZ mini engines had the same codes as British Built examples.
If It's a solid wall block;
12H379. Dynamo, Neg earth, Electric fuel pump.
12H380 Alternator, leccy fuel pump, remote gearbox.
12H389. Dynamo, Mechanical fuel pump, remote g/box.
12H390. Alternator, Mechanical fuel pump, remote g/box.
12H706. Alternator, mechanical fuel pump, rod change.
If it's none of the above you'll be looking at MK3 S, ADO 16, Allegro or Innocenti.
Hope the above helps.

Re: 1275 GT engine number prefix
Thanks for your help. I have established that it should be "12H706" but there are some letters after that. A poster on the MCR Forum mentioned he has two 1980 GT's and they have "12H706AHH", a gap and then the number. If I had some more replies, I could be a bit more certain.
Thanks again and regards
