That’s the spot gone, I’m keeping it simple..
The rear brake shoes are now fitted and adjusted correctly, the wheels are now held on with the correct nuts.. that funny rattling noise has gone
My two favourite must haves are fitted, fire extinguisher and battery master switch..
The new engine is in the queue at smmc the new gearbox is ready along with a few other goodies, I can see some winter recommissioning of other parts coming on..
Hopefully in the spring she will be fighting fit and for the first time I’ll drive a mini to blyton..

Wheels are one of the nice parts that can be swapped easily and really change up the look and feel of the car

Me too not a fan of those wheels on such a historic car.
On the subject of Crompton Parkinson, they made about 150 million rounds of ammunition for the Forces during the last European unpleasantness btween 1939 and '45. By coincidence, a TV programm showed some ammo being dug up on one of the battlefields - all made by Crompton Parkinson by their CP headstamp logo. Just a bit of useless but connected history.........

Stanford hall..
Well McDonald’s in towcester, this is the only picture I took today as I was to busy talking to forum members and friends..
This is the first proper trip out, around 70 miles with no problems..
I think I’ve been doing this trip with JR for about 30 years this is the first time in about 15 we have both had minis on the road..
The 850 is a bit hard work I can’t wait for the smmc engine..

I’m unsure at the moment I have a couple at southam in the queue..
Probably a lightly modified 1275 90-100 bhp, i have an 1128 gearbox with a later style magic wand gear change .. I’ll keep the engine bay simple and everything will be reversible back to the original 850..

Hello chaps
I’m still looking for wheel options.
I have an original set of S wheels that look better that the new ones that were fixed when I bought the car, I have a standard set that look a bit wide/outboard with the S disc’s.
I’ve been thinking about Minispares C-21A1968 minilite copy’s but I’m unsure.
Is there anyone that can think outside the box of other options?

I won’t be using the 30year old rally specials that are fitted to the S rims
I’ve just noticed the wheels have the 883 stamped in the centre not on the wheel trim lug also BAC? That could be a badly stamped BMC on them?

There isn't a huge amount of choice in the 7.5" disc brake & no arch range:
Cooper S 3.5" steels (offset 46)
Cooper S 4.5" Steels (offset 36)
Standard 3.5" steels (offset 24)
Minilite style 4.5" alloy (offset 32) - Minispares/JBW/Ultralite all are similar specs
Rose Petal 4.75" alloy (offset 40)
Rose Petal 4.75" alloy with spacer (offset 32.5)
When you compare:
Cooper S 4.5" Steels (offset 36)
Standard 3.5" steels (offset 24)
The standard 3.5" steel wheels actually stick out 1mm less than the Cooper S 4.5" steel wheels. The tyres may bulge a bit more due to the narrower rim.
In regards to the BAC you have stamped, this first set has a B8C, second set stamped L5A. They may indicate a date code or some other manufacturing code? These are standard 3.5" wheels, but they'd come out of the same factory I assume.
