‘572 BCR’ has been for sale on the continent for quite awhile but I think may have just changed hands.

EDIT : apparently it’s much more complicated than that.

The laying on of the hands of godesses on 572 BCR to bless it before its’ first ever race in the Silverstone International Trophy in May 1962. It obviously worked as Liz came 4th in class Anita finishing back in 7th in her Anglia.

Coincidentally, the original 572 BCR, which has been in the same ownership for 50 years, will be making it’s first public appearance since the 1980s at Yattendon tomorrow.

Liz was certainly quick, she got in front of Anita here too at Oulton in ‘64..

That race was the season ending Gold Cup with Liz 5th in class in front of Anita 6th and her brother Trevor 7th.
This was also Liz’s last ever race, retiring to breed Great Danes, only making one more appearance, as co-driver to Tish Ozanne in their unsuccessful ‘65 Monte attempt.
LIZ 1 reverted back to its’ original EKX 210B reg for the next season with Tony Lanfranchi taking Liz’s place both in the car and Alexander team.

Another complicated history of a high profile car. An original car that was rolled in the 60’s ?…and an identity that was claimed in the late 80’s …….then the original tuns up recently with supposedly supporting evidence of it’s authenticity ?? Never a dull moment in the Mini world

Johann Schnabl, whom I visited yesterday to get some insights in his racing career and life - as well as more info on Niki Lauda's Mini.

Here in 1971 he is sitting behind the wheel of his Grp. 2 - 1293 Abingdon built fuel injected 8-port GT at the Jochen Rindt memorial race in Tulln-Langenlebarn Sept. 1971.

Later on he raced and won the Austrian Toouring car championship in a Broadspeed BDH-powered Escort , before he finished racing in 1975ish.

Cool to see that NSU Prinz TT in that last shot. I raced against a Prinz this last weekend and it was a very quick car, looked even better in my rear view mirror though.

The quickest over here was the one of Willy Bergmeister prepared by Spiess. Made a real "maitre de la montagne" to his name. Came in 4th overall at the '75 ETCC round at the Ring. The TTS having a 1000cc engine while the TT was 1300.
