Hi,
I know that this topic hs been covered in the past on and off but I can't find anything that relates to this section. I'm trying to work out how the cable is supposed to be supported in the short section to the front of the tunnel just before it meets the front subframe. Mine's a Hydro car. My many pictures from before the car was totally dismantled are far from clear here as everything was so covered in old engine oil then.
I suspect I've used a bracket for the brake pipe that should have been for the cable, but maybe not. It looks like the re should be some sort of support there but I can't work out how. Does anyone have any pictures that show this area? I'm very grateful in advance if anyone can help.
Thanks,
Steve

The routing is correct with brake pipe/battery cable/Hydrolastic pipe in that order.
The folding of two of the tags is wrong. If we call the tags 1, 2, 3 and 4 , 1 and 4 should be over hydro pipe, 2 and 3 should be the opposite way over the battery cable.

Hi,
Thanks guys, this is a great help. Hopefully the two tags will stand being reversed without breaking off.
Out of interest, while I'm on this subject, do you have one or two P clips holding it to the rear subframe? I know this subject has been discussed before but there seems to be a lot of variations. When I removed my old cable it only had the one and was routed as per the picture as I've re-installed it now. I'm wondering if it has always been wrong since I bought the car in 1985. Or did they drop the other P clip by 1969 as it was thought unnecessary to save a few pennies?
Cheers,
Steve

My MK2 had two. Mine is a low mileage car and quite confident original before I took it apart,

Thanks Paul,
That's a great help. My car had a new rear subframe fitted a year or so before I bought it and I suspect they didn't bother re-fitting the first P clip after the floor grommet to the new subframe as there isn't a hole in the subframe for it. I'll drill a new hole and fit a clip as per your picture.
Cheers,
Steve
