ENVIRO-STRIP, Body Stripping

Post by 5portsrock »

Have just used Enviro Strip near Birmingham to strip numerous layers of paint, filler and fibreglass from my less than loved 66 Cooper.
They couldn't of been more helpful.
They kindly kept my trailer on site saving me 300 miles towing and repaired the trolley carrying the body shell. They ensured someone was on site to meet me before 8am, who also kindly showed me the varied selection of cars going through and showed me through the process. Including lots of manufacturer body shells for a well known rally team.
On an early pick up, again there was someone to meet me. They showed me round my car to ensure i was happy and then helped load it onto the trailer. They also took afew photos for my records.
The process has certainly removed all traces of filler etc ,uncovering patches that werent prvously seen. Really impressed.

Agree - top notch with excellent communication. In my case collection and return arranged too. Great to have photo proof supplied as part of the deal.

They seem to be the polar opposite to Surface Processing.

Have seen them on Car sausage before.

Intresting to see how shell prepared, door skins removed and some of wings left in place, presumably to keep every thing in place...

Assume you have to drill drain holes in cavities like sills?

For those asking about price I was quoted £3500 for a shell to be stripped dipped and e-coated a couple of years ago

Not sure what the cost of plastic bead blasting is but I'll ask Eco-Jet at Tysoe, Warks

Enviro Strip use a pyro (oven) stripping and e-Coating system. In essence you just blow the paint, filler, seam sealer residue out as its all just ash, with compressed air, then re sealer and e-coat again....
Perfect to anneal steel bodies, but too hot to put in alloy panels...
