I saw the glacier white one at the NEC it was really nice and it was interesting to compare it with my own.

Re: 1275 GT thread
I agree with you. I thought they looked crap back in the day - and compared with a Cooper S - but now I'd be quite temptedrolesyboy wrote: ↑Fri Dec 09, 2022 5:48 pm These early GT’s are starting to look better and bettermab01uk wrote: ↑Fri Dec 09, 2022 11:11 am

I remember a mate buying one when they were new and being disappointed with it because it seemed underpowered. In fairness, they were only supposed to be a 998 Cooper replacement and cost less than a Cooper S from what I remember.

Hydro pipes well done! But it was easy interestingly the long metal pipe from front to back on both sides was there! But it was obviously converted to cones.
Re: 1275 GT thread
At least you can not see the Hydro pipes when it's driving along, unlike the poorly replicated side stripes, the oversized tyres and that nasty locking petrol cap.

Re: 1275 GT thread
Hi after a bit of info . I have a early clubman the fe number is 125383. The car is registered early 72 and I wondered if this is about correct . Have ordered a heritage certificate and have already been informed that there isn’t much info going to be on it . Many thanks Justin

Re: 1275 GT thread
Hi Justin.
I have a late 72 and no heritage certificate. The reason given was there is a 101 GTs of that year that there is no record of and my no’s fall into that category. Hope that helps.
Merry Christmas Gray.

Re: 1275 GT thread
That is a beauty isn't it I spotted it yesterday I thought that'll have a lot of people fighting over it It'll sell for more than I want to pay for it I imagine. A lovely project for somebody. A shame to over-restore it perhaps?

That will make fortunes. What a nice example. I will be shamelessly stealing the details from those photos when I put mine together.

Re: 1275 GT thread
Years and years ago I bought a 1275GT for my wife, she didnt think it was powerful enough.....so I build bigger engine, 86mm crank, 74,, omega pistons, 649 cam and a 45 weber. She never complained again. Sadly she sold it to my ex brother-in-law for his wife. They got divorced and she then left it unlocked , with the key in the steering lock. Yup, you guessed it. It was stolen. Never to be seen again. What a shame, it was, by far, the quickest mini I ever drove. Hope the engine is in some other mini now.
