Hello,
I'm having a problem with a mini. It drives then if you give it a bit of beans it sort of loses drive but if you leave it for a bit (like a day) and go back to it it will drive but then do the same thing.
I've already had the clutch out and couldn't see anything wrong with it and I cant really see how a gearbox could have a fault then it go away only to come back AGAIN!? Have I misses something on the clutch? drop gears? Pinion gear? I just don't see how it can work then not work then work again!?
One thing to note is it selects gears fine, even when the problem is happening? Clutch does feel a little bit light to me!? But I'm used to sitting in new cars all the time and rarely even touch the mini
Any thoughts on this would be very welcomed
PROBLEM PLEASE HELP

Check if the rubber lip, in the master cylender, goes ALL the way back,
so it clears the little vent hole, that releases the pressure on the system.
I had this, problem, and the car behaved exactly as you describe.

Yeh the plunger is free (cheers)
I see what your saying about the master cylinder and I think I will check this out. One thing though is its new and ive driven it further and for longer than this previously.. Do you think this could still be the problem?

Re: PROBLEM PLEASE HELP
The hose can collapse any time, as Andre said, but regarding the master cylender it could be anything from a stuck piston ? or ?
Try to mesure the gap on plunger & release arm, then pump the clutch pedal several times, and check if plunger & arm goes back to same position ?
if not, then loosen the pipe on top, of the master cylender, while you keep an eye on the arm/plunger, if it goes back, you found the problem (master cylender) if not, then loosen the bleeding screw, on the slave cylender, if it then goes back its the hose.
