Bleedin’ moderators!
I have been taking advantage of this forum for a while now and I think the moderators needs to get a life!
No matter when I ask them for a favour, be it late at night or on a bank holiday they always oblige without so much as a by your leave!
They are also guilty of stopping tasteless or offensive threads in their tracks, adding pertinent comments to good threads and even supporting good causes with personal contributions!
Do they really need to rub our poor faces in the sand of their selflessness and generosity?
Something should be done for these dogs-body-do-gooders.

I beleive the site owner moderates the forum. I guess he has the final decision as to what is permitted.

Good idea!
I'm not alone in my moderating efforts. I am very ably helped by Pandora & mk1coopers.
I am very grateful to both of them for helping with the heavy lifting keeping the spammers at bay.
We all just do it to keep the forum & friendly, helpful place, where people are free to give & receive advice, knowledge & encouragement in this hobby we all enjoy.

Re: Bleedin’ moderators!
As one of the moderators, I'm very grateful for the appreciation, though I will admit that I do very little as most folks are well behaved, most of the time.....
as for moving and/or deleting posts, it gives me the screaming heebie-jeebies - I have a constant fear of pressing a self destruct button and all and every post going up in a puff of smoke! so I only do so as a last resort
So, if you misbehave folks, that's what you are risking. You really don't want to take that chance with a luddite having the codes!

Re: Bleedin’ moderators!
Would it be possible to include the 'like' symbol as they use on Facebook for example? Many of the posts are very informative and helpful and perhaps it would be a nice response to acknowledge without needing to make a comment....mk1 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 23, 2022 8:17 am Good idea!

I am not a fan of the faceache like system, It turns the place into a competition for the most amount of ticks. I have seen it on here in the past were a member thought that his posts were better because it had more responses and replies. The internet is not a competition to be the most popular, it is to allow people to help others out and find the information that they require.
PS
The like tick on faceache has nothing to do with people liking anything, it is just part of faceaches algoritm system that helps them push their agenda and show advertisers the best place to stick their ads.
