Very difficult to say, depends on what is there & what is useable.
Does it still have a useable 163 head & the correct 190 Gearbox? What else does it come with?
If it is all complete, ie. correct in all aspects & useable, then 5,000 plus, but it ALL depends on condition & completeness.

Re: Mk1 mini cooper 1071 s engine
Great to hear of another one that may come up for sale to the enthusiastic mini crowd
Block number would be my first check, especially as I was told an original was actually a chopped down 1275 block once.
If you haven't done so already, I'd suggest getting the head off and seeing what the bore is like / has it had a rebore etc.
Crank too, as if it has been reground it may not have much life left in it... or could be perfect and that would be very rare in itself.
The gearbox 190 number is probably more important than the actual gears, but the rarity of the originals will add interest.
Until these things are known it is a lot of guess work I'm afraid, so bite the bullet - and fingers are crossed for you

Watching with interest ..
Mine has the correct gears but wrong casing .. apparently not untypical of factory gold seal S boxes.

Hi Rodney
Open your pictures with MS paint and use the resize feature, till the size is less than 512kb. Works a charm.
Cheers

If you've taken them with an iPhone then send them to yourself as an email and select low resolution when it prompts you to select an image size.
Presumably Android systems are similar ?

Bit difficult to see, but the engine and box casting numbers look correct

Just view on an old fashioned Lap Top and use the zoom feature.

Andrew, right about the gold seal replacements. My Dad bought a Gold Seal replacement box for his 1071...he installed it (was a 190 case)...took the car out for a drive and was surprised to find out it would barely go over 80MPH! lAndrew1967 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 07, 2022 8:37 pm Watching with interest ..

Took it apart....had a 3.44 FD!
