I owned this car from around 1980 to 1984.

Before I bought it the car was put, at some speed, through an Estate Agent's shop window in the centre of Clitheroe...in the middle of the night. There was a woman in the passenger seat who was (allegedly) the wife of a local police officer. Needless to say, the driver wasn't a member of the local constabulary...so he made a sharp exit. Unfortunately in his haste he failed to realise he'd left the tax disc on the floor of the shop! Big mistake.

I think the car eventually went to a dealer in Bolton(?). Have you got any pics or do you know where it is now...?

PS Anyone know the whereabouts of RMC 277E? Think the bloke i sold it to broke it and DVLA site shows it hasnt been taxed since '87 but it would be great if it has survived..

Yep car went to the late Bob Brookes who later ran Mini Bits from bolton. When my dad bought it , it was black with a white roof and had a Madadash in it. Originally snowberry white/ black.

Smoke Grey, sorry got your name wrong! Steve and 1071 was nearly right eh?
XLV 127J was the last Mk 3 'S' that Liverpool police had and was the driving school car I believe. Belonged to Darryl Swift of the Wirral who was a civilian driving instructor for the police. Believe he owned it mid nineties and that it is still around.
