Seam sealer

Any recommendations on a good seam sealer ?

I've found UPOL products to give the best results, Grey stripe and Tiger Seal. Tiger seal has great gap filling abilities but is a bit pricey.

I used Tiger seal and found that you can get a great smooth bead with it but it was so smooth the stone chip and undercoat lifted from it. Where as the brush on goo I used it stuck like Poo to a blanket!!

when the seam sealer is dry,run a red scotchbrite over it
tiger seal is polyeurathane with an icocyanate curing agent,once dry its like painting over shiny paint,,it can shell off

always scotchbrite polyeurathane sealer before painting by air dry unless you are going "wet on wet" with 2 k paints and baking in an oven

if tiger seal is overcOATED WHILST NOT CURED WITH SINGLE PACK PAINTS IT WILL TAKE MONTHS TO DRY PROPERLY
it can be sprayed over with 2 k solid colour but not polyester bascoat unless oven baked

agreed , tiger seal is more of an adhesive rather than a proper seam sealer, used by dodgy body shops for sticking things back onto cars instead of using trim clips

i agree on that
decent bodyshops use 3m or wurth seam sealer

suppose u-pol is the "primark" of seam sealers
once you use a good un,,you will never go down the cheapo option again.
