Gravel Rally Tyres 10”

Post by Brynmor »

I’m mulling over (madly) of taking the Mk1 out on some historic gravel rallies…however I can’t find any Tyres? Does anyone now of a new stock and their brand or some decent secondhand ?

145 or 165 Brymor?

I seem to recall Blockley's being used ?

Of course things like these are out there too - at a price!

They are nice though aren't they, and 145s, you would need more than one set though

Never used them but these look a bit better value.

I wonder what the shipping cost would be, plus the VAT and import duties?

Probably still cheaper than the extortionate price that Weathermasters cost

They look very interesting, I may look to see if we could import a range through work.

Please let us know what you find!

I went on a massive search a few months ago and all I found were some 13s at Murray Motorsports (which I purchased, but hit the rear trailing arm brackets, even with big spacers on). Demon Tweeks won't ship to the states anymore so I couldn't get the Maxsports - which I've run in the past on my r53 rallycar and really like.

I've also used Black Rockets in the past on my r53 and they weren't great, but were extremely cheap at the time. Unfortunately for me the US distributor is no longer carrying them - I tried contacting them directly via email and never received a response.

I've had a good chat with Black Rocket this morning and will I think look to stock a range of sizes alongside our other brands. They're not cheap (is anything these days) but offer something currently just not available.

You can put me down for some 12s (155-12s I would think) if you'll be able to ship to the US!

Now what to do with almost $2k of 13s that don't fit (other than keeping the bill hidden from the wife!).
