Harewood Classic - Saturday June 4th 2022

Post by mk1 »

I received this notification this morning:

BARC Yorkshire Centre
Harewood Speed Hillclimb
Classic & Vintage Hillclimb - 4 June 2022

Please note we will be opening for entries at 7pm on the 25 April for the Classic & Vintage Hillclimb on the 4 June and the Jim Thomson Hillclimb on the 5 June.

All opening, discount and closing dates for Harewood events are available to view on our website www.harewoodhill.com

As usual visit https://www.hwoes.co.uk/ to enter (but not before 7pm on Monday!), but you may want to log in and check your details before then!

REMINDER - Entries will close on May 22

As usual MK1 Performance Conversions will be sponsoring Class C19 & it would be great to have a decent selection of Mini's entering. I will laso be awarding the MK1 Performance Conversions Trophy to the fastest 10" wheel, treaded tyre mini on the day.

It has been a very wierd couple of years & it would be great to have a good get together at this very pleasurable informal event.

BUT REMEMBER! Book early! All events at Harewood book up VERY QUICKLY!

Great Mini entry, few good mates, plus Tim Harber in C20 in the Biota.

A good day yesterday at Harewood. Good to meet up with the regulars and see the new Hawcroft Speciale. All it needs is a gold roof to match the 'er Cooper.

I shot some moving pictures which are now on the YouTube

I also have some stills which I will post up in the next few days

Was great to see everyone at Harewood on Saturday. I think we had a cracking day.

After a terrible first run, my car seemed to clear it's throat & went OK after that. I discovered it is never a good idea to be watching the boost gauge when I should be watching the track  Still a very distant 4th though.

Well done to Richard who won our 10" wheel MK1 Trophy for the second year running.

And a HUGE thank you to Stu who has, as ever taken some superb pictures & video!

Thanks Stu for the great vids - we're impressed that you were in four places at once... ;) , a super day out from our spectator point of view, fantastic to watch the Mini's and other machinery. We had a great run over in our 'Tweedy', until he developed a misfire 300yrds from home - today's job - whip the head off to see what's going on!

I'm afraid that it wasn't myself you were chatting to on Saturday, we came and looked at the Mini's in the paddock but didn't want to intrude, so just took a couple of pics. I do wonder whether the Father in Law might have had a chat though..?

The update on Tweedy after my mornings tinkering is a blown head gasket, nothing too major thank goodness!

Hope to meet you some time. :)
