Good news everyone, the Bo'ness hillclimb, which was announced as not happening this year, is back on. Kenny Baird (one of the original prime-movers for the resurrection of this hill in 2008) has posted on Facebook that a date of September 10th and 11th 2022 has been confirmed. He advises to "watch the Friends of Bo'ness Hill Climb Facebook page for more details, announcements and regular updates"

Hope to be there myself in my mini and to see a few of you there too.
Malcolm.

Adam & I eagerly await updates.
We will certainly hope to be there. One of our favourite events of the year.

I was just about to email you about that, Mark - may need to rethink that other thing?

Re: Bo'ness Hillclimb 2022
bit late to be planning much now imho.
I know we've got an event to go to then already.
I can see there being a 'hillclimb', didnt they have that last year, just at Forrestburn though??

Re: Bo'ness Hillclimb 2022
I assume from the slightly cryptic post that another club will be running it. I assume LCC or MSCC?
No word on whether it will have the large show as well? I assume it would need it to draw the crowd to get the gate money needed?
Will watch with interest, and Mark, we'll speak soon, I'm sure

Re: Bo'ness Hillclimb 2022
Kenny B just posted an update:
Friends of Bo'ness hillclimb course
Kenny Baird · 5m ·
This year the Bo’ness Hill Climb will be promoted and run by Bo’ness Sporting Automobile Club. The hill climb will be held in Kinneil Estate, Bo’ness on 11 and 12 September 2022.
We are very much still in the planning stage but will have a website up and running very soon - full details of the event will be available on this site. Club memberships will also be available once the website is active.
We hope you can join us to enjoy another great weekend of motorsport at Scotland’s oldest motorsport venue and soak up that unique Bo’ness Hill Climb atmosphere.
We are looking for a car club partner to host and run a modest classic car show on the hill climb weekend. If you think your club may be interested please let us know and we can discuss this further.

Re: Bo'ness Hillclimb 2022
It is with a great deal of sadness that I’m sending out this message. After considerable discussion and deliberation among the committee of the Bo’ness Revival, we have concluded it is now no longer viable for the club to continue.
The primary aim of the club is to stage a hillclimb at Kinneil. This is no longer possible to run to the high quality we have come to expect over the years due to the steep rise in costs during 2022, and we see no prospect of this changing in the future. It would not be possible to run an event to this standard that is enjoyable for competitors, classic car show entrants, officials, organisers, spectators and, of course, the marshals who we all rely on so much. As a consequence of this, we are now closing the club and offering any member a full refund of their 2022 membership fee and any donation made to those who want it. Anyone who wishes to leave their money in the club, the remaining amount will be donated appropriately when all other costs have been settled. There will be no hillclimb at Forrestburn.
At the beginning of 2022, we had every expectation of returning to Kinneil to run the Bo’ness Revival. Unfortunately, the sudden rise in the cost of fuel, living costs, and wages have all impacted on many of our suppliers. The last thing we want as a club, and as a responsible business, is to go into an event knowing we cannot pay our bills.
We have been very fortunate that a couple of individuals have made extremely generous offers of financial support. However, this would still not be sufficient to bridge the gap between what we could afford and the likely cost of running the event in the format and to the standard we would want.
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their support over the years with the Bo’ness Revival. It has been an absolute pleasure to serve on the committee and play a very small part in making the Revival such a superb event in previous years. I’d also like to thank Cask 88 for their unwavering support throughout 2021 and 2022.
As many of you will know, there is a plan to run a much smaller event at Kinneil by the Bo’ness Sporting Automobile Club. We wish them every success for this year and in the future.

Re: Bo'ness Hillclimb 2022
Sad news, I received a similar one this morning, but it seems that Bo'ness Sporting Automobile Club are going to be carrying on where the Revival left off. I have already joined.
