33 EJB
Postby worksminis » 02 May 2017, 14:13
Tour de France Auto, Sept 63. Hopkirk/Liddon. Group 2. 3rd O/A, 1st in class.
Monte Carlo, Jan 64. Hopkirk/Liddon. 1st O/A (on handicap).
The assumption seems to be that it is the same car as on Tour Auto (with cosmetic differences) but
is it totally safe to accept that as definitive history? Other 64 Monte cars were new.
There are so many published reports that it was “fastest” on the 64 Monte that it is perhaps worth repeating here that Lungfeldt's Falcon was fastest on scratch.
Display car up to present day (so no controversy on post rallying fate/history on this one then).

Re: 33 EJB
Something which has always made me wonder. The penultimate image has no rallye plate on the bonnet. Does anyone know why? The Corgi model had a blue background plate which I think was actually a Service plate. I have asked several people in the know but have never had a positive answer. Does anyone here know?
