I'm not sure how many people ever bother to check out the Works Mini archive, but it has been having a huge number of new images added recently, mainly by Stu.

If you haven't been there in a while, check it out, it's well worth a visit.

It certainly IS worth a look. Living and working near Abingdon I was always fascinated by the "Works" cars and although I have never owned one, I have owned quite a few bits and pieces which found their way out through those hallowed gates
Great to see some "new" pictures of the cars and those who bravely drove, navigated and spannered with such success.

Just to let those who are interested in Works Car pictures, I am still adding pictures to the archive but have decided to edit posts within the threads for a couple of reasons.
First, I have thought that clogging up the new posting list with every new picture must be annoying for those that use this feature to read what's happening on the forum.
Second, I am putting pictures of the cars into event posts so that all the shots from a certain event are all in one place, instead of being scattered about the thread.
Obviously if I find a picture of a car from an event that has not been covered before then I will create a new post.

I don't object to a gallery of photos bringing together any that exist even if some are (often BMC official) photos that have already appeared elsewhere ad infinitem. What I would like to see is more captions. I could add some from what I know of the rallies (even if I was still at school at the time...but even then I studied Appendix J...).
Although the original purpose was to bring together written record and correct a few common errors, the widespread Mini problem soon became evident - that too many closely cosset facts rather than publish them. I know of no other works make/model where that is so prevalent and am disappointed to find that when a detailed book appears it is clearly lacking proof reading by people who know more about all the various aspects, especially the actual period rallies/regulations. Nowhere else do I see so much "I know the truth but I'm not telling you all". Elsewhere they trip over themselves to add data.
Congratulations to those posting all the photos. Saddeningly I only had a 12 shot film to record things that now would be gold dust.... and it took Ford's, not BMC's, official photographer to catch me in the act:
