Here's a couple of items available at Anglia on the first weekend of April.

First is what appears to be a tidy MkII Wolseley Hornet, but on closer inspections it is probably hiding some horrors.

This looks like it could be usable as a luxury tow barge, just a pity it would cost about 5 times what it would be worth to restore.

That Hornet looks tempting doesn't it - until you look at the photos of the sills ( ) and realise that the previous "restoration" might have been a bit superficial

The right sill is at least honest, but what's lurking under the left cover sill I wonder? And the colour match for the leather restoration leaves a bit to be desired.

This is the only interesting steeringwheel for me, it looks like it will fit the classic Mini.
This is an FORMEL steeringwheel made in Germany as an opposit for the British Formula.
Lateron the name Formel became Indianapolis.

Lost it's front wing to front panel seams as well

It's only the very early ones that were like when they were new......was it not ??

Or was it wings and A panels Single piece ??

I think the early ones had no visible seam between the hinge panel and the wing. All of them (I think?) had visible seams between the wings and front panel however which, as you say, is not present on this car. Probably a case of more bodge - like the sills A shame because it looks quite a bright little car to begin with. One to avoid perhaps unless cheap enough.

Want to stand out at the next Festival of the Unexceptional or Pride of Longbridge, then this could be for you. For sale in Switzerland is this very low mileage 1984 Austin Metro Moritz. How many left report that there are only 4 on SORN in the UK so it is likely that you will have a unique car. The only non-standard parts are the 1990s Cooper wheels, it should be on the standard slotted steels with plastic hub caps. Only 2000 of these were built in 1984.

It’s nuts isn’t it, auction sales generally, bonkers! I picked up a VERY good and original 1965 998 Cooper for a fraction of that a few months ago. Advertised on the open market. Auction buyers seem to have no issue emptying their wallets on some very dubious cars.

Yes it is a weirdly high price for a 998 Cooper. I wonder what the story is?
