Thanks Paul, although just a small snippet of info it's very important in the car's history.
In 66 the car competed in the Autosport GT Championship & the odd hillclimb.
The car then appears at the WhitSunday race in Holland in May67 with it's new owner Tonio Hildebrand.
This advert in Autosport shows exactly when the car was offered for sale & is the missing link between the above events.

Thanks again Paul & anyone else that has contacted me directly

Thanks Jens, the history of 88D is coming together all the time
The recently found footage holds a lot of evidence towards the car's originality
Now that I know the bulkhead is original the only panels that will need replacing are the r/h wing & the fibreglass bonnet (which is missing).
This is one of those rare genuine cars which are truly few & far between

Thanks

No Problem Chris, I'm sure I've seen it in one or two programmes, I'll have a look.

This thread's in the wrong section really , but anyway thought it time for a revival because I had heard years ago that at least one member of the Bee Gees owned a Broadspeed GT and the car above turns out to be Bee Gee drummer ('67-69) Colin Peterson's car...

Image

These photos were taken in March 1969 in some London mews by the looks of it, the lady on the left is Mrs Peterson nee former Brian Epstein's personal assistant Joanne Newfield..

Image

And the fluff on the bonnet of his Broadspeed is his dog !

These are cracking cars that we don't see much of. What happened to the 13 or so that were in Spain? I'd give my left nut for one!!! :o

Are the broadspeeds 'sprinted'?

It looks like the screen is raked more, and the windows lower, but that last pic, it also looks as if the headlamp is very close to the indicator....?

Could just be the angle!!?

I do Love these cars...

I didn't think the lower body was chopped. Incidentally I've just sent Mark some nice Broadspeed material, much more to come, so look out for some website updates. :)

Ahh ok...Must be just the angle of the dangle...

Were they based on the estate/van floorpans? or were they saloon wheelbase??
