Yes & not just that -- it will become a very expensive, and difficult job to find cars to fill it with

Then this was cheap!

And wasn't it a "recreation" of the original works Abingdon transporter that had BMC 34 as registration number?

Re: £95 000 ?????
If a "Works Car" is worth what they are worth, I can't see the price of the Bus being to far off the mark to the right punter. They don't exactly come up every week do they. I am sure the owner of the one that sold for £35,000-ish must have been devastated.
As AndyB said, with a vehicle like that one it's virtually a free pass into any classic car event in the world.
And no doubt as Rich will vouch being a bus owner, the £100,000 buying price is nothing when compared to filling it up with fuel & actually going somewhere in it

Re: £95 000 ?????
I THINK the owner of this bus is Paul Roberts, who owns at least 3 works cars - 2 big Healys UJB 143 and URX 727 and one of the '64 Monte minis, 569 FMO.
He's a very nice guy who loves him rally cars and doesn't mind having them regularly thrashed for our entertainment by the original drivers.

Don't think so. maybe Paul Roberts owns or owned one of the other ones, or maybe I made a mistake!

You think so ??Gray wrote:

CORRECT! (Mark F)
So you say it's ok that Paul says it's an "Ex Works BMC Transporter"
wich is not true,
and it is also never owned by the "BMC Competitions Department Abingdon."
About that protopyte-thing he's talking about,
well, there were made six identical Units (LHD and RHD) so we then have six prototypes !!!
And it's not the only one remaining, there's also one in Australia.
It's a great Unit with a history, and he have done a awesome job, but I think he should be honest to any buyer who want to spend that amount of money!!
Don't you agree !!!

Re: £95 000 ?????
I'd hope that anyone who was prepared to drop that kind of money on a vehicle like this would know enough to do their homework. If they don't, then they can probably afford to pay over the odds for it, so it doesn't matter.
Personally, I'd love it, but sadly its never going to happen.
