Oddity 1960 car?

Post by rolesyboy »

I have been offered what we think is a 1960 white car. Early non recessed window apertures, small drain holes, early sills etc. It has red dash vinyl but this looks 'factory' as opposed to aftermarket. Is this an original Mini feature, something unusual or something added? Cheers

Thanks for your valuable contribution Mr Shaw. When people ask for an opinion it would be so much more pleasant if replies were positive and helpful ie in the original spirit of the forum.

Hi,

Have you any photos? It it both the top and bottom dash rails that are covered in red?

Could well of been an addition at somepoint in its life.

Cheers

didnt mean to offend.
it was only my way of agreeing with bill about the dash liners

they deffo sound aftermarket,,suppose many people raided the scrappers in the old days for mini trim for early cars,,i was doing the same yrs ago,,fitting later dash liners and stuff into earlier cars

suppose it was what people did back then,eh?
back to the post concerned,,
on a 60 it should be grey headlining material ,on a deluxe or a basic model
unless its a commercial vehicle, then should be tan millboard
for my sins,i own a 1957 wolsleley 1500
