Seems to have acquired later pedals and drawstrings instead of chrome interior door handles, shame about the Mk3 steering wheel centre too.

Currently bid to £9,000 with 6 days to run.
That looks brill. Certainly well documented
Of course I know what a dipstick is, you get called something often enough you look it up!

Pretty much identical to the one I owned when I was 19, except mine was never in such good condition.
If the planned house move had gone ahead I'd be sorely tempted.
Wonder what the reserve is?

The more I look at it the more niggly little things I notice! All easily corrected though.
  • Black wiper blades
  • Overriders missing
  • S badge on the boot
  • No script on the heater (looks like gloss not crackle)
  • Ears on the radius arm grease points (deleted by '69?)
  • Missing draught excluders from between the sliding window panes
I'll get my anorak...

I admire people who have this detailed knowledge but I think on reflection, rather than have a museum piece (and have it picked apart), I'd rather have have a good looking, fun to drive mongrel. Maybe in Tartan Red and Black in memory of HNK 777G.

I have to agree, much as I seem to have accumulated far too much useless information over the years my Mk2 Cooper would displease the originality police in many areas!

I also decided long ago that I preferred driving Minis to cleaning the b!**%y things (hazardous occupation!)

Have to agree, back in the day, whole point of a Mini was to personalise it, not many were as they left the factory.....

Except it is the wrong size - 32 ounce rather than 16 so too big….

I've told the seller who has thanked me for the information... but not changed the listing claiming it is suitable for a 1959 Mini....

40K for a 998 with quite a bit of incorrect detailing :o
They look a bit silly with "S" brakes and reverse rim wheels don't they?
