Is there a difference.

Post by KJW »

Between these - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CLASSIC-MINI- ... 500wt_1180 - at £299.00 and the Minispares ones at £121.00 each, apart from the price?

Yes, those ones on ebay are 'replicas' made in China by Midland Wheels Supplies. They will be nowhere near the quality or strength of the ones from MiniSpares.

You could buy the ones from Swiftune at £150 each if you'd prefer... ;)

Adrian thanks for the info. I run the rosepetal wheels on a Historic, saw these on ebay and wondered why they were somewhat cheaper.

No problems. I've made the mistake of fitting MWS wheels before- I bought their Revolites. Then when the tyres wouldnt go on and they told me to 'heat them up really hot' in the oven to get them on (!!) I got rid of them and bought some proper Revolutions (which the tyres went straight on!)- turned out to be an expensive lesson unfortunately. :(

MWS must have had 100's of complains about tyres not fitting, most people know about it, and had the problem

but why have they not done anything about it,

i have a set of the mini spares rosepetals, they and are worth the extra money, and the finish of the paint work, is spot on, also the right matt shade.

mws are finish of the paint is not as good and are shiney.
