Did you hand-file the BROADSPEED badge out of brass and have it chromed? I did the same with my 1275 boot badges. that were NLA from BL.

I've really enjoyed reading this. The craftmanship is about as good as it gets and a rare thing these day's. Looking forward to the continued build.
Thankyou.
Kind regards,
Paul.

Hi Peter,
no, I'm a bit more lazy and my pockets are not deep enough for chroming

That's why I used modern technology. The BROADSPEED badge is made of stainless steel and laser cut. But afterwards it took me some more hours to smooth all edges and to polish the badge.

Before the big assembly begins, it makes sense to first determine the correct sequence.

As you can see in the pictures, I did not use stone chip protection or the classic underbody protection. However, in order to protect the wheel arches and the underbody, I sprayed on a transparent underbody wax, which creates a hard-wearing surface that is not sticky or greasy.

Before I could apply the wax, I masked off everything on the top and closed all the holes in the floor and engine compartment. This also included the cover plates for the corners of the scuttle panel, which I made screwable, as described before. Before the assembly, I brushed the area behind with Mike Sanders, sealed the edges with body plasticine and screwed the covers in from the inner wing.

in the last two pictures the wax has already been applied.

A serious rust protection is very important! Especially when so much blood and sweat has gone in to the project.

Can i ask you for the name of the wax that you use?
I promise i won't buy another MkI...

Hello my son, i'm glad you found me, as well as all my other lost sons who have come forward in the last few weeks  . But if you can share, I'll gladly consider you for my last will and testament regarding the Broadspeed  . That would be about one or two screws, I guess

I used a transparent wax from k-Line. This was actually developed for agricultural equipment and machinery.
