Best ball joint suppliers

Post by rolesyboy »

Anybody on here recommend decent ball joint kits please? Seem to be various sets available on e bay some say genuine others non specific. I would like some decent ones as my X parts ones have lasted no time. Cheers

I have only used Pickavant including a Commercial (truck) one no problems, or if you can get Churchill! ;)

Oops wrong end of the stick Ronie. I am after the swivel kits themselves, not the tool to split them. Many thanks

Be very wary, the quality is all over the place. My mate got some from our local motor factor
last week and the balls are rough to touch, came with 6 shims with 1 pair for £19.00.
Told him next time to ask before putting your hand in pocket.

As stated above, the quality / finish of what is available today is not up to much.
If you can get hold of N.O.S. Unipart kits all the better. Q.H. are usually the best of the rest.

There's a thread / post on here somewhere which has covered this subject in more depth. I usually use some grinding paste to lap the new ball and socket together.
The ball joints tend to last a lot longer and don't need reshimming so often.
