Fuel and brake lines

Post by Dean »

I am running my fuel and brake lines inside my car, so need to make up them up to fit.

But one stupid question.

What size brake a fuel line do I use.

And we're is the best place to get the pipe and unions from.

Thanks dean

I think I used 1/4" for brakes and 5/16" for fuel

5/16 for fuel but I thought brake pipe was normally 3/16.

Pipe and unions from your local trade motor factors will probably be cheapest.

The fuel line, in steel tube, should be 1/4" and the brake, also in steel bundy should be 3/16". Although many do use 5/16 flexible fuel pipes, you should never use brake pipes larger than 3/16"

If you can afford it use sweatless fuel hose and make sure the unions are not inside the car. Even a dry looking joint, especially one with a jubilee clip can stink of petrol.
