Mk1 Mini Countryman Barn Find

Hi all, been sent over here from the mini forum

Recently been offered a MK1 Mini Countryman that's been dry stored in a barn the last 40 years through family connections and was wondering if anyone has any rough ideas/input on what it's value would be ?

We are picking it up next week so will have some better pictures then when we get it out of the barn but it seems in good solid condition, and fairly original just the steering wheel that isn't, its packed in tight in the barn so pictures aren't great but it's believed to be either a 1965-1967 with only 2,308 miles on the clock.

As said any input will be much appreciated and will post some more pictures next week when we free it from the barn that's about to fall down

That's probably done a bit more than 2300 miles. It looks to have a remote gearshift so most likely a later 1000/1100 engine fitted later on.

Worth having though.

Thanks for your reply, and for the info on the remote gearshift, we wasn't able to get the bonnet open when we visited as it has a chest freezer sat right in front so as said we will know more once we get it outside, regarding the mileage just going on whats displayed, as far as we know the story with the car is that it was purchased in the late 60's to early 70's for the wife to learn to drive in but she didn't like it so it was put in the barn and has sat there ever since, unfortunately the husband who is a family friend knew more about the car but he has recently passed away hence the sale of the mini

Should be able to give you a better idea when you have some pictures of it out of the barn. Looks a good find of what is now a rare to find version of the Mk1 Mini.

Just posing the pictures is enough that's not so difficult or am I wrong about this ?

Alright, I clicked one. Didn't get a virus or anything like that (but that's why I run adblockers etc) but decided to wait with seeing the rest until the OP worked out how to post the pictures. If you have a site hosting the pictures all you need is the direct link to the image and posting it is as simple as placing that link between "[ img ] link [ /img ]" less the spaces between the square brackets and the text
