Respray to original colour?

Is there more value in the car to do the above?

Some would say yes. If you are just restoring a car to sell it, then you are probably better off respraying to the original colour.

Agree with Mark with the exceptions of cars painted a specific colour in the 60s /70s for motorsport or a Radford, Minisprint etc etc then I’d say it might devalue it to go back to the original colour!

Depends on what original Interior Trim is available or perhaps is not available and then Car can easy become a Bitsa.

Thanks for the info. It is indeed a Bitsa. Originally a 1962 997 Cooper with Smoke Grey/Old English White Roof and Dove Grey interior as per Heritage Certificate. It is now painted in late 70's British Racing Green and has a 1275 thin flange S engine, tappet covers, AEG 163 head with 4 synchro gearbox, 7.5 inch front disc brakes. Still has the Dove Grey Interior.

Oh well still may paint the roof Old English White anyway. Always did like the two tone colours on these cars.
