It’s mine and I totally agree, I just hope somebody wants to do that and keep it special. It’s painted RR Regal Red inside aswell so it wasn’t a cheap job, must have looked the business when it was done and gone like a rocket. The Downton stamp dates to 1965 the same as the engine number does. Montague kept it until he got divorced in the late 70s and it was laid up in the 80s.

If I hadn't just bought the Maser I'd be interested in this Pete, it ticks all the right boxes for me. I hope you find a good buyer for it, it deserves to be given the best possible treatmentPete wrote: ↑Sun Aug 08, 2021 7:45 pmIt’s mine and I totally agree, I just hope somebody wants to do that and keep it special. Yeah it’s right up your street! The website had a fit on Sunday and trashed a load of ads so I’m going to have to re-upload it.

He 'brought' them.
Always a red flag and a fine intro to an Enid Blyton tale.

Re: WTH??!?! Have you seen this item on ebay.
That is very nice, but why are the Export badges so high on the A-panel??? You see it more and more when originally they were much lower down, like the BL badges on some later minis. Just looks wrong to me. But otherwise a tidy looking car.and.rs1800 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 18, 2021 8:29 pm Nice looking innocenti 1300 export

Re: WTH??!?! Have you seen this item on ebay.
Crazy, what's the point ?. Same as all such low mileage cars. Stick it in the garage and look at it or devalue it as soon as you drive it. Pointless. Even better trailer it to shows and stand with a smug look for doing nothing but emptying your bank account.mab01uk wrote: ↑Thu Aug 19, 2021 10:02 am 2001 Rover Mini Cooper Sport 500.

Re: WTH??!?! Have you seen this item on ebay.
I suppose if the Mini was bought purely as an investment and it sells for £30k....it depends on whether the return over 20 years (with no tax to be paid) is better than sticking the cash in a savings account/more risky investments or with property, tax such as capital gains being payable?111Robin wrote: ↑Thu Aug 19, 2021 11:02 amCrazy, what's the point ?. Re: WTH??!?! Have you seen this item on ebay.
Exactly, it is just an investment, not something to enjoy which is fair enough.mab01uk wrote: ↑Thu Aug 19, 2021 2:04 pmI suppose if the Mini was bought purely as an investment and it sells for £30k....it depends on whether the return over 20 years (with no tax to be paid) is better than sticking the cash in a savings account/more risky investments or with property, tax such as capital gains being payable?111Robin wrote: ↑Thu Aug 19, 2021 11:02 amCrazy, what's the point ?.
