Wiring a Smiths Tacho

Hi Guys. Does anybody have any suggestions to help me with wiring my Smiths 80mm tacho. I am trying to keep the loom part as short and neat as possible. I want to know what the best take off points are for the wiring. It will sit in one of the 3 clock moulded binnacle with the extra offset bit for the rev counter (and I can't remember what they are called shame on me!) The car runs electronic ignition (Metro type) and it is the modern Minispares tacho to suit this)
