Sad news indeed. Lovely Una was never off the TV in my youth. A great dancer and versatile actress. I particularly remember her in "Summer Holiday" and "Till Death....." of course. RIP Una. You brought great joy.

1970. Chances are the Mini in the top pic is the same 5 year old Cooper in pic 2, AFT690C.
You forget how badly made most cars were. :lol:
Tyneside was a very harsh climate for cars though.

Looks like a bog stock 850 to me, no opening rear quarters.

Your top picture is the ESSO Northumbria, which was launched in 1969. The four kids were reunited 45 years later by the local newspaper.

Magniificent...... engineering at its best. When I shifted from bit-part engineering to big stuff, like Armour (Centurions) I thought that the Centurions were big - and the '67 onwards Chieftains were just monsters. But these ships bring it all into scale...... The tanks were mere pussycats
