1961 Countryman USA EXPORT -- Correct Badges ?

Post by jl46 »

Hello All,
We are restoring a Austin Countryman built on Nov. 1, 1961. It was a " Personal Export Delivery to the USA". My Grandmother bought it and it was shipped home with her on the QEW ! I'm wondering what would be the correct badging for the right rear door for this car ? I"m thinking AUSTIN with the 850 underneath would be correct.

What do the experts say :?:

Thanks,
JIm

Jim

The car would have had Austin 850 on the rear door, as seen on this car, although the 850 is hanging off.

The position is as per this model, with the 850 replacing the Seven badge.

The badge you require looks like this and can be found on Ebay in Europe from time to time.

Also you may want to join the Mini Traveller and Countryman Register, who will be able to help with some of the unique features found on the earlier cars
