It's tough enough doing a restoration on a standard Mini, but it must be so much harder doing a resto on a Mini such as yours Jens.
For example, because your Mini is so unique, practically a one off, finding the correct parts must be very difficult. I suppose that is part of the "fun" trying to locate that missing part or parts.
Keep posting the build photos. 8-)

Hi again to the people, who are watching my project .

Thanks for the kind words & yes its hard to find parts, for a car like this.

Some of the parts, was not found, untill after I finished with the resto of the car.

First I had to find out which "parts bin" W&P had stuck their sticky fingers into ;)

Then I had to locate the part, which was always from some upmarket / posh / rare / expensive car

Some parts were found, after more than 8 years of search, others I still search for :?

One exampel are the Red door lights, I had the Lucas number from the lense, but Holden.com could not help me :(
2 years later I found them (after I got a computer )

Its now late November 2006,

The car was now ready, for some electrics work.

I wanted ALL the electrics to work, before I dismantled the car.

I didnt want to have a car with new paint, and then have to start working on a old faulty loom.

Here we just removed the big plate (static Scalextric racetrack)
so I could access the drivers door.
It hadnt been open for 7 years.

Hello,

Its now mid January, all the parts around the car was moved, so the car was easier to inspect

we needed to find out how much work, that needed to be done?

It turned out, that the brakes were still rusted solid, and thats after 7 years with VD40.

Hi D,

Thats SOOOOO nice 8-) in the 4 years I have been on the internet, have I never seen another one

Love the detail, regarding the screws 8-) JanSpeed used exactly this type of screws.

It would have looked SO wrong, if you had used screws with Phillips head

The Mini in the JanSpeed video, was endeed a Mini 1000, but it had all the running gear/brakes/suspension, from a MK II Cooper S 8-)
