HIF 44 carb

Post by 66S »

Hi guys,
I am fitting an HIF44 to my daughters' 1275GT. I worked out what the various connected to the various pipe connections but I've now forgotten. I can see the main fuel fitting and the vacuum advance tail. There are another two above the fuel line, one closer to the engine than the other. I'm picking they are part of a ventilation system, anyone know what to do with them?

Regards
Al

Thanks Kariya,
That is very helpful. Judging by the comment (pasted below), the vent pipe (5) is connected to the hose-tail on the inlet manifold, is that correct?

Best regards form New Zealand

Al

Crankcase ventilation - Is that a performance thing, how does it work, is it to improve emmissions? I have breathers on the crankcase that just vent into the engine compartment.

Overflow thing - how would that plumb in, where does it go to?

Thank you!

Al,

NO.
Float chamber upper volume (equal #5vent pipe) should be always atmosphere pressure. it goes to a canister.

Have a nice day! in New Zealand :)

These shots may be of use, they show the 44HiF in my 1993 Mini Sprite
